THANE

Thane is a multi-instrumental producer and songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At a young age, Thane began learning musical theory from the euphonium and piano, but it wasn't until his late teenage years that he began learning digital production followed by the guitar. 

At the very end of summer of 2016, Thane released his debut album "Topia", snagging Grammy nominated artists Anderson .Paak & BJ The Chicago Kid as well as other acclaimed artists in Mick Jenkins, Low Leaf, and Kojey Radical. The album was met with positive reception from outlets such as 2DopeBoyz, DJ Booth, Pigeons & Planes, Passion of the Weiss, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 88Rising, and Jamz Supernova's show on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

In early spring of 2017, Thane released an official remix of R&B duo THEY.'s "Deep End", which also featured a new verse from Milwaukee favorite IshDARR. The remix was selected as a part of the "New Music Friday" playlist on Spotify.

In September of 2022, Thane returned from his hiatus to release the neo-soul tinged jam “White Lies” featuring fellow Midwestern collaborators in Ipe Ramos, B~Free, and Jamie Breiwick. Piet Levy of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel praised the single citing Thane’s “meticulous..craftsmanship”.

To end the year of 2022, Thane released his first body of work, “The Algorithm Isn’t Working”, since 2016’s “Topia”. Titled as an “album-mixtape” the “The Algorithm Isn’t Working” is meant to be a pre-cursor to his upcoming 2023 album. On NYE, Thane premiered the album-mixtape at an album release show at Crush Wine Bar in Waukesha, WI. The lead track, “Limitless” immediately caught the attention of Stereofox that described the song as “a vortex of emotion” and the album-mixtape as “what one could expect if Burial, Clams Casino, Jamie xx, and Moby end up being in one room” and a “brave new step from the sound that Thane dabbled with when creating his debut ‘Topia’”.
